the molded cornice having egg and dart decoration, centered by an oval cartouche depicting a classically draped maiden and flanked by opposing griffons, the segmented mirror plate flanked by seated classically draped maidens and separated by columnar pilasters. Height 71 x width 57 inches. White circles/dots visible in catalogue photo are holes in the mirror where sconces were previously mounted. The sconces are not included with this lot and are not part of the auction. Mirror in good condition overall; areas of minor repairs and some overpainted gilt. Scratches, scuffs and marks with gilt loss/exposed gesso consistent with age.
