$750
19th century the rectangular case having a circular dial with Roman numeral hours and surmounted by the bust of a man, raised on a rectangular plinth. Height 19 1/2 inches. Case in overall good, stable condition. Bronze elements (bust and mounts) all intact with even patina, some minor surface scratching consistent with age and handling. Marble likewise intact, some chipping to edges, inclusions or possible tight hairline cracks to side and back. Base (plinth) is marble veneer over concrete core. Works appear mostly complete but lacking pendulum and key. Both springs take a wind and hands move freely. Clock attempts to strike on the hour and the half but the hammer misses the bell.
