British 1897 pattern George V Officer's sword having a three-quarter basket hilt, both sides of the blade heavily engraved with symbolism and devices of the British Empire to about two thirds of the blade length. One side of the blade marked S&J Kitchin Makers Sheffield and the other the six-pointed star with the word "Proved" etched on the blade. Sword together with leather scabbard measure approximately 40-1/4" in length the blade 32-1/2" in length. George V swords are currently used as ceremonial swords in the British military.
