English, circa 1874. An unusual brass tapestry or curtain/drapery hanger with rod surmounted with a finely cast decorative cresting depicting scrolling leafy branches issuing flowers and berries and centered with a standing bird reaching for a berry. English registry marks on the back indicate this piece was produced November 17, 1874. Approximate height 17.75", width 44" (rod). Provenance: Estate of Mrs. Jane Carson Myre (heir to Coca Cola distributorship in Paducah, Kentucky) whereby acquired by a Private Collection in Paducah, Kentucky.
