Chinese, late 19th/. early 20th century. A large hardwood side cabinet, possibly a prayer cabinet, profusely inlaid with mother of pearl having a rectangular top with projecting corners above the front having assorted shaped and paneled sections elaborately inlaid with scenes depicting landscapes, figures, calligraphic symbols, rockwork, flowering foliage and bats, the central oval panel inlaid with a writhing dragon amidst cloud scroll, raised on four in-curved bracket feet. Central panel signed in mother of pear. Approximate height 54", width 48.25", depth 23.4".
