Chinese, Ming Dynasty Xuande Period mark (1424-1435), likely 20th century. A square porcelain bowl of tapered form with chamfered corners and a round foot, with cobalt blue underglaze decoration on white ground with figural medallion in basin depicting three monks in a garden with fence and structure behind them, the inner rim of bowl with wide band of floral medallions on a diaper patterned ground, the exterior of the bowl having courtly figural scenes to each squared sides and diaper patterning over cloud scrolls to chamfered corner planes, the round foot with scrolled band. Blue underglaze Xuande imperial reign mark to underside. Approximately 4.5" tall, 8.25" square at rim.
