Bert Beirne (American, 20th/ 21st century), "Two Books + Glasses", oil on panel, signed to lower right "Bert Beirne". Realist still life painting depicting two bound books, topped with eye glasses, with label to verso. Framed approximately 9.25" x 10.5". Unframed approximately 7" x 8". Provenance: Property from the Estate of Mr. John L. Roper II, Former Owner and CEO of NORSHIPCO (Norfolk Shipbuilding and Drydock Corporation), of Norfolk, Virginia. Mr. Roper collected a number of fine American antiques and art including a noteworthy early American coin collection that sold at auction in 2014.
