Continental, likely French, mid to late 19th century. A carved and polychromed Louis XV style fauteuil chair, having a curved back crested with a floral bouquet, with two sloping fauteuil arms and fluted handholds, with a serpentine seat rail carved with a floral bouquet, with a conforming removable seat cushion, on four incurvate legs with carved rosettes on the knees, terminating in whorl feet. Upholstered in blue and green paisley linen, with burlap to the back. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 38.25", width 29", seat depth 22.5", seat to floor 20.5".
