French, early 20th century. A two-toned Louis XV style bombe form commode, having a serpentine banded marquetry inlaid burl wood top with a stained and beaded edge, over a conforming case, with two short concave front burl wood drawers, each inset with a locking key escutcheon, with two long burl wood drawers, mounted with stained scrolled molding, each with gilt washed metal leaf tip pulls and a locking key escutcheon, the lower drawer with a stained and beaded rocaille edge, with carved and stained incurvate acanthine legs terminating in pad feet. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 35.35", width 57", depth 21.5".
