International Silver Company (American, founded 1898), circa 1920s. An important silver plated lighthouse form cocktail shaker realistically modeled after the 1783 Boston Light, the second oldest lighthouse in the United States, with windows to the tapering base and a gallery around the light at top. The shaker in three parts having base, strainer, and lid with apparently original corks. Underside of base with impressed mark "MERIDEN S. P. CO. INTERNATIONAL S. CO. 343". Overall height approximately 13.25", diameter of base 5.5". Note: this important piece of Americana was apparently made in three sizes: 12", 13.25", and 20.25" and was produced between 1927-1929.
