Henry Massy (British, active 1691-1745). A Chippendale style mahogany tall case clock having a flat top and molded cornice over a square glazed door flanked to each side by full round columns with brass fittings enclosing the silvered brass dial with Roman and Arabic chapter ring signed "Hen Massy London" and is engraved with stylized half hour and diamond shaped half quarter hour markers with subsidiary silvered seconds ring and date aperture above the paneled rectangular pendulum door and cove molded waist and bottom molded lower case on bracket feet. Approximate height 75.87", width 18.75"(hood), depth 9" (hood). Provenance: From the Estate of a prominent publisher and philanthropist, Greenwich, CT.
