English or Irish, fourth quarter 18th century. A fine cut glass multi-arm sweetmeat epergne candelabrum having a central "sweetmeat pole" with swirl and diamond point shaped finial with petal-cut bobeche hung with faceted prisms over a diamond point stem, with two tiers of notched scrolling arms; the upper tier issuing a candlecup with a Vandyke-collared rim to each side with petal cut bobeche hung with faceted prisms, the lower tier with four dishes in navette form, also with Vandyke-collared rims and diamond point pattern used to hold jellies, nuts, crystallized fruit, the polished brass circulet mounted to the paneled and fluted circular base.
