French, mid 20th century. A pair of upholstered Louis XV style armchairs, each having a rectangular back rest with a scrolled head rest, with a polychromed beige frame with painted gilt edging, two upholstered arms with scrolled handholds, an overstuffed, removable seat cushion, a curved, polychromed seat rail accented with painted gilt rosettes, on four tapering and fluted legs terminating in blunt arrow feet. Upholstered in red and gold silk damask. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 38.75", width 27.5", seat depth 22", seat to floor 22".
