Chamberlain (English (Worcester), founded 1783-), first quarter 19th century. A matched pair of fine porcelain vases with covers, the hexagonal baluster shaped bodies boldly enameled in Imari palette colors and decorated in Chinoiserie taste with leafy chrysanthemum and flowering prunus branches and a vase issuing peony on white ground, the shoulders mounted with gilt stylized dolphin handles. The covers are of hexagonal domed form having the same decoration as the body and surmounted with a gilt berry and white leafy finial. The interior of each lid is marked underglaze iron red "Chamberlain's Worcester & 155 New Bond Street London". Approximate height 14.25", width 8"(handle to handle).
