Continental, likely French, late 19th century. A pair of Louis XVI style side chairs, each having a rectangular upholstered back and seat, with a distressed polychromed ribbon twist frame with a beaded border, the crest rail accented with a carved basket and obelisk finials, over an upholstered seat, with a beaded seat rail, floral patera blocks, on four rounded, tapering and twisted legs with carved acanthus leaves, terminating in arrow feet. With brown diamond patterned velvet. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 36.75", width 18.75", seat depth 16, seat to floor 19".
