English, mid 19th century. A carved rosewood William IV tilt-top side table, having a round top with a carved, acanthine edge, over an inset apron carved with acanthus foliage and rosettes and a gadrooned border, on a tapering, shaped pedestal leg carved with fluting and foliage, resting on a tripod base with carved scrolling vines, on three acanthine bun feet. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 31.25", diameter 24". Provenance: From the Estate of a prominent publisher and philanthropist, Greenwich, CT.
