English, late 19th century/early 20th century. A pair of carved mahogany Chippendale style armchairs, each having a rectangular, upholstered back and polygonal seat, with carved, serpentine arms with scrolled, acanthine handholds, resting on curved, scrolled arm supports, on cabriole front legs with acanthine carved knees terminating in claw and ball feet, with tapering back legs terminating in pad feet. With green upholstery decorated with cherry trees with pink, purple, and white blossoms. Approximate height 40.625:, width 27", seat depth 17.5", seat to floor 17.5".
