English, late 18th/early 19th century. A blue and white transferware platter, depicting a pastoral landscape with an abbey, with a courtly processional in the foreground and around the border. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 1.125", width 14.75", depth 11.125". Provenance: Property from the Private Collection of Mrs. Nancy Rutledge Pogue, Blufton, South Carolina (wife of Mr. William Pogue, who served as an heir to the H. & S. Pogue Company department store chain based in Cincinnati, Ohio).
