English, early 19th century. A Regency period pagoda form papier-mâché tea caddy, having a domed pagoda form with a hinged lid, lacquered black and gilded and polychromed red with an allover filigree motif, opening to reveal two lidded interior compartments, each with a brass pull and remnants of the original leaded interior. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 5.25", width 9.25", depth 6".
