Franz Mosgau (Berlin, founded 1807), four quarter 19th century. A cased set of twelve silver and parcel gilt individual fruit or cheese knives, the handles having rococo decoration and the scimitar-shaped blade decorated with bright-cut scrolling acanthus engraving. Knives are presented in the original retailer box from Herman Schrader, Juweller, Hamburg. Each knife is hallmarked with maker's marks of Franz Mosgau, further marked with crescent and crown and ''800'' standard mark and the gilt metal blades marked ''Stahl''. Approximate length 6.75".
