English, early 19th century. A George III mahogany and marquetry inlaid tea caddy, rectangular in form, having a musical theme, with a hinged and line inlaid lid, with a central marquetry cartouche depicting instruments, above a conforming body, the front with a marquetry cartouche depicting an urn, flanked by two plants, either side with line inlay and marquetry stars. The hinged lid is lined in marbled paper, and opens to reveal two compartments with line inlaid lids and metal pulls. Unmarked. Approximate height 5.125", width 6.75", depth 4.75".
