American, fourth quarter 20th century. Victorian pickle castor with lid tongs and frame and satin pink art glass insert decorated with enamel painted floral motif, the lid surmounted with eagle finial and set in a pierced and footed base. The underside stamped with traces of "PLE PLATE" and remnants of a clover, possibly for Benedict Mfg Co (American, 1894-1953). The glass insert, lid and tongs apparently unmarked. Approximate height 9.75", width 5.25".
