Chippendale maple two-part chest on chest, attributed to the workshop of Moses Hazen, Weare, New Hampshire, ca. 1800 , the upper section with a broken scroll pediment centering on a turned finial, above a protruding scalloped tympanum, above a three-panel drawer with a central fan and three long drawers flanked by blocked stiles, resting on a four-drawer base with fan drop and short ogee legs ending in ball and claw feet, retaining a superb original red stained surface and brass pulls, 83" h., 39" w., 20" d. A similar maple chest on chests, attributed to Hazen was sold at Christie's, January 1994, lot 245.
