English, first quarter 20th century. A print after "Halt!" by Lady Elizabeth Butler (British, 1846-1933), the original painting being in the British Royal Collection. Painting depicts the end of the last charge of the 10th British Hussars at Waterloo, with a single solder on horseback thrusting sword upward and yelling over shoulder in front of an intense battle scene. Inscribed below image "Halt! End of the last charge of the 10th (British) Hussars at Waterloo, By Lady Butler. From the original painting now in possession of His Majesty the King. The French, though fewer in number (than the Allied and Prussian armies) would have won the victory but for the obstinate and unconquerable bravery of the British troops, which alone prevented them (extract from Napoleon's Correspondence)). Framed 34.25" x 28.5", unframed sight size 23.5" x 18"._x000D_
