English, 19th century. "Waterloo Port, The Battle Refought", hand colored etching by James Dobie (English, 1849-c.1925) after the painting by Walter Dendy Sadler (English, 1854-1923), possibly a restrike, published in London 1815. Etching depicts French officers sitting around a table discussing the results of the Battle of Waterloo over glasses of red wine and a meal. Signed in plate lower left "W. Dendy Sadler". Inscribed below image lower left "Painted by W. Dendy Sadler", lower right "Etched by James Dobie". Framed 29" x 32.25", unframed sight size 17.5" x 21.5".
