American, second half of 20th century. Watercolor interior design sketch for Lamar Dodd Residence created by designer Lane Rabb in Spring in 1970. Interior with sloped ceiling, fireplace, modern teak chairs, low sofa, and minimal modern Scandinavian desk. Work signed lower right Rabb. Framed 19.25" x 23.25". Watercolor sight size approximately 11.3" x 17.2". Note: Lamar Dodd (American, 1909-1996) was a painter who worked in a number of artistic styles ranging from naturalism to abstract art. Dodd started work as a university teacher at the University of Georgia in Athens in 1937, he became the head of the art department several years later. Dodd consolidated art instruction into a unified department and initiated a master's degree program. The Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of Georgia is named in his memory.
