A Russell Athletic Diamond Collection New York Mets grey road jersey team issued to then Mets pitcher Dwight Gooden during the 1994 Major League Baseball season. Gooden has signed the jersey on the front underneath the "New York" script logo in blue marker. "New York" and Gooden's number 16 are stitched into the front of the jersey in blue-on-orange-on-white tackle twill lettering and numbering. Stitched into the back of the jersey is "Gooden" in blue-on-orange-on-white arched tackle twill lettering above the repeating number 16. Stitched into the left sleeve is the Mets' "25th Anniversary/ Miracle Mets" patch. Stitched into the right sleeve is the Major League Baseball "125th Anniversary" patch. Stitched into the outer tail is a Russell Athletic patch listing the jersey size as "48." Gooden played for the Mets from 1984 to 1994. He was National League Rookie of the Year in 1984, won the National League Cy Young Award in 1985, and is a four-time All-Star. The jersey is accompanied by a letter of opinion from baseball jersey authenticator William Henderson, a letter of provenance from the consignor, and a letter of authenticity from JSA for the signature.
