British, last quarter 19th century. A hand colored print after "Trout Fishing" by Douglas Adams (British, 1853-1920), originally painted in 1892, print published in 1893 by I.P. Mendoza in London. Print depicts a pair of fisherman on a rocky bank, one with pole and one with net, fishing in a shallow river before an arched foot bridge beneath stormy skies. Inscribed lower left "Painted by Douglas Adams", center "Trout Fishing", and upper right "London, Published June 1, 1893 by I.P. Mendoza, Printseller and Publisher to H.M. The Queen, St. James Gallery, 4 King Street Copyright Registered". Framed 29.5" x 37.75", unframed sight size 20" x 28.75".
