Hollow Column Shelf Clock, Plainville, Connecticut, c. 1840-45, mahogany veneer case with hollow columns flanking the upper two-part door, reverse-painted glass tablet below painted zinc dial and mirror in lower door, brass, thirty-hour time and strike movement powered by two cylindrical weights which descend through the columns to the bottom, regulated by a pendulum, ht. 28 in.
