Levi & Abel Hutchins Birch Tall Clock, Concord, New Hampshire, c. 1790, the stained birch case with carved rosettes terminating the swan's neck pediment, freestanding turned columns flanking the silvered sheet brass roman numeral dial with arch reading Levi & Abel Hutchins Concord with scrollwork decoration, seconds bit, and calendar aperture, tombstone-shaped waist door, all resting on a bracket foot base, brass, eight day time and hour strike movement with half-moon cutouts on front and rear plates, regulated by a brass-faced pendulum, and powered by two tin-cased weights, ht. 88 in. Note: According to S. and T. Spittler and C. Bailey's book Clockmakers and Watchmakers of America by Name and Place , Levi and Abel worked together in Concord, New Hampshire, from 1786 to 1803.
