Japanese Eight-day Lantern Clock and Wall Bracket, c. 1865, straight-sided bell sits over the top-mounted balance wheel, floral-engraved panels on all four sides, rotating dial with movable hour and half-hour markers turns against stationary pierced steel hand, eight-day, verge escapement, time and strike movement regulated by a balance wheel with adjustable timing weights and powered by a single weight on an endless rope, all on a Shitan wood wall bracket with a glazed hood and fabric-backed pierced side sound frets, ht. of clock only 9 in.
