Santa Anna, Antonio Lopez de (1794-1876) Document Signed, Mexico City, 23 February 1842. Single leaf of wove paper, partially printed, fulfilled by hand, with inscriptions on both sides, large applied paper seal and two blind-stamped seals. Promoting Agustín Vicente Zamorano (1798-1842), Mexican Governor of Alta California. Old folds, some stains, with seal, toning, 12 x 8 1/2 in. Zamorano is most noted for being the first person to bring a printing press to California, a wood-frame Ramage press purchased in Boston. Provenance: The Estate of David Spinney.
