Engraved by C. E. Wagstaff after Alfred Grimod d'Orsay, Count d'Orsay (French, 1801-1852). "Napoleon", hand colored engraving, published in London in 1847. Engraving depicts Napoleon III standing in formal French military uniform with right hand resting inside his unbuttoned yellow vest beneath a red sash, his hat held against his body by left arm, the subject standing in an interior with wood molding behind at waist length. Framed approximately 36.25" x 32.5", sight size approximately 20" x 16.5".
