American, 1920s. Victrola 4-40 Orthophonic floor model record music player in wooden cabinet form with mahogany finish. Center section of top hinged to access player within, underside of lid with Victrola logo. Serial number on metal label in interior behind player reads "97473", circa 1927. Cabinet with four hinged doors in body--center two open to reveal speakers below, storage behind smaller side doors. Overall raised on turned tapered legs joined by incurvate cross stretcher base. Also includes an assortment of records. Approximate height 37.75", width 36", depth 19". Note: The 4-40 was produced until 1929.
