$70
Lee Reynolds (California, 20th C) earth-toned oil on canvas framed in gold tone frame, signed to lower right corner "Lee Reynolds"; measures approximately 48-1/4" x 60-1/4" with frame and has a sight image of approximately 47-1/2" x 59-1/2"; in Good overall condition. Lee Reynolds was active/lived in California & is known for an "umbrella" name for Vanguard Staff Artists. In the art-boom ’80s, Mark Kostabi set up an art sweatshop where struggling East Village painters made Kostabi-esque works under his not-so-watchful eye. But in 1965, Lee Reynolds Burr and his Vanguard Studios were there first. His original “art factory” in Beverly Hills produced more painted canvases bearing one signature than any artist in history, but none of the artworks for sale were actually painted by him.
