Each with the name of the artist inscribed within the negative l.r., inventory numbers inscribed within the negative l.l. Gelatin silver prints mounted to board, image sizes to 7 5/8 x 9 5/8 in. (19.4 x 24.5 cm), unmatted, unframed. Condition: Minor silver mirroring. N.B. In addition to his work as a landscape and marine photographer, Thomas Maar had particular expertise in capturing the estates and homes of the wealthy and well known in the Northeastern United States. First commissioned by Isabella Stewart Gardner to document her museum and its collection in 1902, the firm of Thomas E. Maar & Son continued the project in several phases until 1926. Included in the lot are views of the fountain and stairway in the courtyard, the Cloisters, the Gothic Room, and the Early Italian Room.
