Egyptian Revival Gold and Micromosaic Demi-parure, c. 1865, comprising a brooch and earpendants each set with an oval mosaic of an iridescent scarab beetle, with palmette accents, and suspending conforming drops, lg. 3 1/8, 2 1/2 in. Note: Lots 133 through 229 are property from the Nancy and Gilbert Levine collection, donated to the Toledo Museum of Art and sold to benefit its future acquisitions. The collection formed the Museum of Arts and Sciences travelling exhibition "A Century of Jewelry & Gems: 1785-1885" which was accompanied by a published catalogue in 1995.
