Gold and Aquamarine Brooch, c. 1845, designed as a knotted ribbon bow set with oval aquamarines, engraved accents, removable pendant drop, lg. 3 1/4 in. Note: Lots 133 through 229 are property from the Nancy and Gilbert Levine collection, donated to the Toledo Museum of Art and sold to benefit its future acquisitions. The collection formed the Museum of Arts and Sciences travelling exhibition "A Century of Jewelry & Gems: 1785-1885" which was accompanied by a published catalogue in 1995.
