Continental School, 19th/20th Century Madonna of the Olive Branch Signed indistinctly, perhaps "G. ...relli/fec...," on the reverse, titled on a presentation plaque. Oil on canvas, 40 x 25 in. (101.5 x 63.5 cm), framed. Condition: Craquelure, surface grime. N.B. Although it shares a title with Italian painter Nicolò Barabino's painting of 1887, the composition at hand is not based on that work. It relates more closely to depictions of the Virgin and Child by the Spanish Baroque painter Bartolome Esteban Murillo.
