Wucai Openwork Dragon and Phoenix Vase, China, possibly Transitional period, Yuhuchun form, with molded lion-mask handles at the neck, the body decorated with a five-clawed dragon and a phoenix over a ground of green and yellow clouds, with cutout areas allowing a view of the second interior wall, the neck with banana leaves in blue, red, and green, six-character Longqing mark around the neck, ht. 10 3/4 in. Provenance: Part of a private collection, exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1968, then to the present owner by descent.
