George III Mahogany and Veneered Desk, England, early 19th century, the slant lid-form opens to a central door with vacant compartment and a single shelf, flanked by two candle slides, correspondence slots, and small drawers, all surmounting a surface with inset panel which slides back to reveal a vacant compartment, and an oval leather writing surface, over a frieze with a single drawer framed by slide-out desk supports, above two short over two long drawers, supported on bracket feet, ht. 37 1/8, wd. 31 1/4, dp. 17 1/2 in.
