19th century of elongated octagonal form, the crest centered with a shell, floral decoration and C-scrolls above a segmented vertical mirror plate within a beaded border and foliate scrolls. Height 55 1/2 inches. Property from the Collection of Mrs. Karl D. Bays, Lake Forest, Illinois Provenance: Wakefield-Scearce Galleries, Shelbyville, Kentucky Good condition. Gold leaf with areas of retouching/overpainted gilt. Several age cracks, small loosened parts and minor repairs to the crest/trim as can be expected. Mirror plate cloudy with heavier loss of silvering around edges. Additional photos available upon request.
