18th century each stamped indistinctly HLE, the molded arched crest rail leading to padded arms enclosing a serpentine-fronted loose cushion, raised on cabriole legs ending in scrolled toes. Height 34 inches. Property from the Collection of Dr. Eugene and Mrs. Vilhelmina Gedgaudas, North Oaks, Minnesota Provenance: The Estate of Catherine Bache Miller, Christie's, New York, 17 April 1980, lot 1102 Each in overall good, stable, usable condition. Frames intact with fairly even painted finish, some chipping and exposed gesso but mostly to the backs. Reupholstered with newer dust covers to bottoms. No other repairs noted. Some slight looseness to joints. Upholstery intact and clean. Additional images available upon request. Height from floor to top of seat 19 inches. Width of seat at front 26 1/2 inches. Depth of seat 21 inches.
