(British, 1909-1989) Honkers Flighting Down River at Dusk, 1978 oil on canvas signed Peter Scott (lower left) 28 x 36 inches. Property from the Collection of the Saint Louis Zoo Association, St. Louis, Missouri Has been examined under UV light. There is surface residue splattered across the composition, linen matte and frame - it appears to be brown and sticky and fluoresces under UV light. There is a small splotch of possible inpainting in the sunset - the pigment appears to be the same yellow/white as the sunset but it fluoresces under UV light. There is a very small pigment loss (1/16 inch in diameter) in the upper left quadrant of sunset. Painting is framed. In natural light, shows well from a distance; upon close inspection, residue and imperfections are noticeable. Additional photos available upon request.
