German, circa 1860. Lovely bisque parian-type shoulderhead doll with sculpted and painted blonde hair, comb-marked away from face and centered with pink tied ribbon, the face with inset cobalt blue glass eyes, painted upper and lower lashes, tapered brows, closed mouth, accented lips slightly curved upward, blushed cheeks, molded ears with gilt leaf and branch hanging earrings, beaded blue, gold and white necklace with painted molded blouse with ruffled glazed pink collar with gilt and white beading, original cloth body with kid leather arms and stitched fingers, wears overcoat and three layered dress including petticoat, slip, pantalets, and socks. Doll is apparently unmarked. Approximate height 20". Provenance: From the Estate of Mary L. Haugk, Lawrenceville, Georgia.
