After Charles Emile Jonchery (French, 1873-1937), "Enfant au Ballon (Child with Balloon)", patinated spelter sculpture later converted into electrified lamp, incised on lower front "Jonchery" beside attached metal plaque stamped with title and artist information, circular foundry mark "FABRICATION FRANCAISE PARIS MADE IN PARIS". Late 19th century figural sculpture later converted into electrified lamp depicting a young girl with curled hair wearing a sundress holding a floral decorated balloon composed of graduated clear and gold metallic flecked bead strands, colored glass grapes and clear glass leaves, and small sculpted ceramic white flowers. Approximate height 19.75", width 7", depth 8.25". Provenance: From the Estate of Mary L. Haugk, Lawrenceville, Georgia. Note: Charles-Emile Jonchery was the son of the sculptor Emile Jonchery. He worked in the renowned sculptor, Auguste Rodin's workshop and participated in the Paris Salons during the first quarter of the 20th century creating works in mainly the Art Nouveau style.
