Sampson Mordan & Co (English (Chester) 1837-1941), circa 1913. A sterling silver trio of novelty pin cushions modeled as hatching chicks comprising a large chickadee with faded purple cushion and two smaller chickadees with beige cushions. All three hallmarked on side above egg "SM & Co" for Sampson Mordan and Company, Lion passant for sterling silver, shield bearing city's coat of arms for Chester and date code "N" for 1913. Each chick also has registration no "475678". Approximate height of tallest 2.75", smallest 1.37".
