Japy Frères (French, 1806-1940s), early 20th century. A gilt metal turquerie motif mantle, having two lovers mounted to the top, seated on a rockery, inset with an etched metal clock face with Roman numerals, the whole on a shaped base, impressed with a central medallion depicting two musicians, surrounded by birds, flowers, insects, and foliage, with a shaped skirt decorated with flowers and four round, lattice work feet. Face marked "Masselis e Dunkeroue", and movement marked "Japy Frères". Approximate height 17.75", width , depth 4.3".
