Japanese, likely Meiji Period, late 19th/ early 20th century. A fine and large open rectangular form censer having four bracket feet with cloud form apron spreading to either side in support of a rounded rectangular body with overhanging flat rim, with elephant head handles to either end and inlaid leiwen patterning to side walls. Underside with cast four character mark. Approximate height 4.5", width 17.5", depth 9.5".
