Meriden Silver Plate Co (American (Meriden, Connecticut) 1969-1930), late 19th century. Two fine Victorian silver plate and Vasa Murrhina or spangle glass dresser boxes, each square form with three layers of glass; both with clear top layer, one with cobalt inner layer and the other with turquoise, each having splattered silver mica flecks then cased with white opal. Both boxes further decorated to the exterior with polychrome enamel of scrolls and flowers in white and pale blue. The cobalt box with lined bottom interior. Both resting on silver frame with four ball feet. The underside of each stamped "MERIDEN SILVER PLATE CO., QUADRUPLE PLATE". Approximate height of cobalt box 4", width 4.5", depth 4.5". Approximate height of turquoise box 3.5", width 4.5", depth 4.5".
